Town Hall Poets

poetry at Trowbridge Town Hall & beyond!

Town Hall Poets are a Poetry Society Stanza group who meet on the second Monday of every month, usually at Trowbridge Town Hall.  We organise readings, workshops and open-mic events at different venues in Trowbridge and beyond.  The group was set up by Josephine Corcoran.  Its members come from Trowbridge and surrounding towns and villages, including Bath, Bradford on Avon, Frome and elsewhere.  You do not need to be a member of the Poetry Society or to live in Trowbridge to join this friendly and inclusive group.

Our next meeting is on Monday, 8th May 6pm – 8pm at Trowbridge Town Hall.

We aim to hold an Open-Mic Night every third meeting, and the most recent Open-Mic was on Monday 13th March, 7-9pm, at the Studio Cafe, Drawing Projects UK, Trowbridge. Details here.  This was a lovely venue and a friendly crowd!

Poetry Stanzas are poetry groups run voluntarily by members of The Poetry Society.  Poets of all abilities and anyone (16+) with an interest in reading and discussing poetry is welcome.  Come along to a meeting to find out more.

There was an informal poetry get together to read and discuss a new Candlestick Press pamphlet Ten Poems from Ireland at the Studio Cafe, Drawing Projects UK, Bridge House, Trowbridge, on Thursday 23 February 10am – 12pm.  Read more here.

There was a National Poetry Day event at the Town Hall on Thursday, 6th October.  Details here.
